hello 2008.

Hey.

The trip to Thailand was fantabulouso. Really really awesome. Most of us fell ill and were down with vomiting and diarrhea on the last day of the trip but I guess we really enjoyed the trip. Seriously. Pictures, soon!

Now that it's 2008, I guess it's time for new things to happen. First up, ORD in one months' time! Secondly, enlistment into university!

I don't get it when people make new year resolutions. I mean, yeah it's great that we all want to change how we lead our lives and what we think is lacking in it, but why wait till the new year? Why can't change be immediate? Must there be a catalyst before change starts to take effect?

To me, the transition between 2007 and 2008 is like this:

31 Dec 07 1 Jan 08 2 Jan 08
-------------------------------------

The day before the new year is 31 Dec 2007 and the day after new year's is 2 Jan 2008. Nothing much has changed, just a minor tweak to the year. It's a linear thing, you know? It's not like a loop where we suddenly find ourselves flying out of the one labelled 2007 and into another called 2008. We don't have a new beginning, mistakes aren't automatically resolved, memories aren't left behind, nothing has changed.

There is no need for new year resolutions. Change starts now.

Happy new year!
