fox.

Hey!

Last post till the end of the weekends. Been super busy with BB stuff, and will continue to be. I'm in charge of next year's recruitment and POP events!

Okay. fast update. Went for youthJam practice today which I super enjoyed. It's been so long since we've got together! And despite our 'rustiness', we still managed to learn a new song today, Planetshaker's Reflector! It's like, OMG WE'RE REALLY JAMMING. Everything came together without taking too much time. I suppose we're learning Hillsong's What The World Will Never Take and Salvation is Here now. Woohoo!

Okay, have to wake up in 5 hours time. Then I'd be on a plane to Penang 3 hours later. It's been like almost 2 years since our family went on a holiday together. Heh. At least I've been to Cambodia last year.

Okay. Check mail + forums then sleep. No gaming for the next few days. :(

Okay, goodnight, and bon voyage (to myself)!

ilfords, kodachromes, porst.

Tradadada.

Okay, got back another roll from Kim Tian. Cute cashiers. I digress.

Got back my roll. A few shots which I wanted to turn out didn't, a few were alright. :(

Got my 2 lenses already, might get another camera body from the seller again. Great guy lah, super friendly. And his stuffs are SUPER cheap. If the sales for the body goes through, I'm gonna get the body (which is selling for quite expensive) for the price of a toy camera. :)

Spent the entire day at Church having our Annual Officers' Retreat. It's fruitful, albeit a super long one. Practised a few songs during breaks with fellow YouthJam members. Gonna finish up on Reflector end of this week. HOHO!

Okay, super tired. Selling one of my camera bags for cheap cheap. Someone get it off me please.

Okay, church tomorrow, then shooting.

See ya.

The Perfect Mistake

Wow! I just got back my roll of film today. What in the world! When I first saw the index print, I realised I developed the wrong roll! It was my first FM2n film, which was exposed when the guy at the repair shop accidentally opened it. So I went home and totally forgot about the CD. But alas! I only remembered a few minutes ago. Guess what I found when I opened them up for a closer look!

OMG! It was indeed my FIRST roll of film which I used during lantern festival. THEN UNWITTINGLY, I rewound the whole thing and used it as my FIRST roll for my Holga 120S. Talk about double exposure! Nothing beats this! Double exposure by 2 different cameras, one SLR and one lomo-camera. WOOTAY! I'm psyched. Funky colours too. The white box you see in the middle was taken at the Esplanade, after acquiring our holgas.

And I was actually pissed off when I saw the index print. NOT ANYMORE!

KA CHING!

Hello all!

This shall be my last post before A levels end. Which is today, lah of course. You think I can tahan for a few days, meh?

That aside, I've just (as in 10 minutes ago) finished watching Shaun Of The Dead again. This time, with my brother. I think he enjoyed it alot. Anyhoo, the first time I watched it was just before my first paper, Math Paper 1 I think. Around the same time too. I think the previous screening was 10.30am to 12pm or something. I really like that show alot. It's somewhat a parody of the Dawn of the Dead series, but set in England, with lots of humorous elements during the entire show. It's funny lah, I like it alot. Of course, the feeling of watching it before my first paper, and watching it again after my last paper is totally different. I noticed I still has this 'butterflies in the tummy' thing, though. Anyhoo, paper's gonna start in like 3.5 hours.

After that, should be following the two friends to FINALLY pick up our rolls of film, then head over the Queenstown to some dude's house to pick up my 2 lenses lenses which I won in auctions. Yay! And the lens from the second link was made around the early '80s. A piece of treasure! So I guess I won't be back till quite late tonight. Finally end of A levels eh?

Dear Diary,

Finishing A's OFFICIALLY in 3 days time. But it finished unofficially 3 days ago. hoho.

Spent the past 2 days slacking at home. I finally intalled DOTA. And continued my BF2. Yes! Was supposed to go WCG yesterday and today, but both buddies couldn't make it. So we SHOULD BE going tomorrow, hopefully. I can pick up my rolls of film from Kim Tian tomorrow too. Hopefully some turned up at all. Hehe.

And 2 more lenses will be added to my collection on Monday 1.01am. If all turns out well. Then I shall send it for servicing, and to upcoming vacation. Hurray!

I didn't know having breaks could be that boring. Maybe it's what I do, but, sooner of later we'll run out of things to do. I've been gaming gaming and gaming non-stop. I need fixes.

So WCG tomorrow. If anyone's going, look out for Starcraft Korean player xellos_kr. He was unbeatable at last year's WCG. If he wins this year, he'll be crowned WCG legend.

Tim.

lord of destruction

YES!! HEllo!!

It's the UNofficial end of A levels!

So what did we do after Physics?

The computing gang sans the only girl went to JP to watch Doom. Since we're hardcore gamers we thought it would be as good as the game, but alas, the converse was true. It was okay lah, I thought there would be like succubi, demons, imps, and all those. But no! Only some claw wielding demon which looked like a mini Godzilla, and a hound dog/pitbull was the only monsters.

The FPS view was alright, but I didn't get into the mood I usually get when playing FPS games. It's like, okay, it's first person, but it felt weird not controlling the guy's movements.

But it was a good try, this Doom. Even though I felt it didn't bring justice to the game, Doom is really really pwnage. It was my second FPS game I ever played. My first was Wolfenstein 3D (no, not Return to Castle Wolfenstein). Funny man, you see, the imps are brownish demons who can shoot fireballs, so when I played the game (I think I was around primary 5?) I actually moved my physical body to dodge the fireballs instead of my character. Hahaha. It was that real.

Kay, after that the 2 boys went to Kim Tian to help me develop my 2 rolls of Holga negatives (lady just called to say one entire roll is underexposed :( ) I think I haven't gotten use to Holga yet. Then I met them at Suntec to look see WCG. It was the opening ceremony, so no games today. We decided to eat, then I went home, and here I am. The whole place was filled with foreigners. It was like so damn COOL lah. People walking around with their clans, and checking out the place, and opponents. Its so fun. MAN. I think I shall train up, and climb up the local rankings to go WCG in a few years time. HOPEFULLY. They took away Quake3, so I guess it's time to train on Quake4. And Starcraft.

Tomorrow the trio will be going down to WCG again. And to collect my film. Hopefully all goes well.

WCG, boleh!

Damn I love gaming.

Woohoo!

HELLO.

This shall be a quick update before Physics tomorrow! Kansdfasdkfnklsdfjasdf!!!!!!!!!!111111111111

In short, I'm finished. I'm still memorising them equations and definitions. Luckily it's an afternoon paper, so I can wake up early and do some last minute revisions. Sian man! Hopefully my deal for lens goes through, I can only know the result of the auction at the end of next week. So in like 7 days 30min, I can be jumping for joy (for 2 good reasons: unofficial end of A levels, lens!). I can't wait for that moment.

And Sandra's gonna lend me her lit books after she's done with it. HEHE. That reminds me, I still have Memoirs of a Geisha and Life of Pi still unread. I bought them like during June and I haven't finished either one. Sad!

Okay, mug now. Wish me luck tomorrow!

May the Force be with you all!

and everybody goes pewpewpew.

Aye!

Alright! 3 more exam days and it'd soon be over. Hohoho!

GP was okay, passage for P2 was surprisingly easy. And there was only ONE passage (as opposed to the traditional passage A and B). And they kindly placed summary at the end of the paper, just before AQ. So we could actually finish before the 1.5 hours was up.

Math, well, it's not bad. Just hope I don't have many careless mistakes. Computing was kinda bad. Lots of general topics (computing jargon for out of syllabus). 60-70%, I guess? So what we studied didn't come out. Most of it. The topics which we anticipated to be difficult was terribly easy.

So what's left? Physics, and the second computing paper. After which, shooting, shooting, and more shooting. Speaking of which, nobody has contacted me on my lens posting I posted a few days ago. So I sourced for other lens, and luck has it, I got immediate responses. Haha. So if by the end of the weekend I don't get any offers from my original posting, I should be getting this then.

Until then.

Whoops, seems like my webhost account has ended. Please bear with me while I find another webhost.

God of Small Things.

"The mind can make a heaven out of hell or a hell out of heaven"
- John Milton.

It all depends on paradigm, really.

what know you not.

Hello.
Quick update here.

Math was alright. Was surprised I was able to wake up like at around 10.30am despite sleeping late nights for the past few weeks. Had a quick lunch, didn't had an appetite, so went off to school about 1.5hours before the paper started. Caught up with some friends whom I haven't seen after school officially ended.

Math paper 1 was alright, lah, albeit being shocked at the first question. I think it was a matter of butterflies in the tummy. My better senses kicked in and I managed to do most of the questions (just hope I get them right) apart from 2 parts. That's about 11 marks gone. Not bad though, I had like 30+ marks of questions I couldn't answer initially, but in the end I managed to do some.

1 day gone, 5 days to go.

I was telling myself the night before, something like "If I screw even one paper up, I won't be getting into a university". Come to think of it, it is true, but that's why there's two papers for most subjects isn't it? (apart from diverging us from the fact that we have so much stuff to memorise, or mug). But, if one falls, the other must rise. That's how I managed to pass my mathematics for prelims. If you think you can't get through one, bang on the other. Or for Science, bang on your Paper1 and SPA.

Remember: You're braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. Don't give up. Press on; for this is the final battle all of us have been waiting for.

On a more lighter note (as with all posts):

I can get my el-cheapo lens after A's! Yippie! Check my posting out here. If you have any friends who are into photography, ask them if they have any lens for cheap buggers. :)

Time to read my computing notes.

Good luck for those Chem students out there.

Tia!

PS: I uploaded a new song (actually not) by Hillsong. I got the God He Reigns CD off dad's golf goodie bag a few nights before. I especially LOVE this track, it's sort of more jazzy than the one on the previous album, Look To You. I love the bass on this track too. I urge all of you to have the patience to let it load - it's good. :)

Sans Borders.

Hello.

Just couldn't help but touch the keys on my keyboard once again. They demanded to be caressed. :)

I just looked through the cover of today's New Paper (31st October 2005). To quote a certain surfer, 'I was speechless'. A whole front page of soccer. Owen, Arsenal. I mean, thats pathetic. Almost half the sports pages are already filled with soccer. Yes, there are LOTS of soccer fanatics out there, but HELLO? This is the NEWS we're talking about. Is the media here to transmit news to the masses, or to give them what they want? Half the world has its eyes fixated on the India bombings but there on the front page is soccer? Sheesh! Sure, the newspapers are there for the heartlanders, and if you don't give them what they're interested in, your profit margin and ratings might drop. But soccer?! But what else can we do? Comprain, lor, the gahmen can solve everything what.

The most recent report on Worldwide Press Freedom Index 2005 has shown Singapore having an INCREASED ranking from 147 to 140. Pathetic. Heh! Even Malaysia is ranked 113. YES, that's our neighbour. Cambodia is at 90.

Sad eh?

Our press has MUCH to improve on.

Quote of the Day -

The more successful the woman, the less likely it is she will find a husband or bear a child. For men, the reverse is true."

Sylvia Ann Hewlett, an economist and the author of "Creating a Life: Professional Women and the Quest for Children," a book published in 2002, conducted a survey and found that 55 percent of 35-year-old career women were childless.

Hehe.
